Now in its fourth decade, the American Quarter Horse Youth World Cup is a biannual event that packs a lot into ten short days. For Canadian youth who are competitive in American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA)-sanctioned competition and their alliance partner disciplines, becoming a member of Team Canada is a goal they typically set for themselves very early on in their youth equestrian careers.

Summertime is show season for all riders across Canada, and riders with disabilities are no exception. Many riders with disabilities enjoy the chance to compete and ride with others to show their horse-riding abilities. There are many different kinds of opportunities for riders with special needs to enjoy competition including in-house shows, local schooling shows, and Para-Equestrian Canada video competitions.

The first will be held on September 23-24, at Esther Mortimer and Harper MacKenzie’s M2 Dressage Centre in Millgrove, Ontario; the second on September 30–October 1, at Fairlawn Equestrian Centre in Brentwood Bay, BC, owned and operated by Nicky, Sam, and Vanessa Reid and John Hannam.
